Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about your Gurway rider account and data.
Account deletion is permanent. This page explains how to delete your Gurway rider account using the mobile app. Deletion must be initiated and confirmed while signed in — it cannot be done through this website.
Account Deletion
The information below reflects the account deletion process in the Gurway rider app (iOS and Android).
How do I delete my Gurway rider account?
You can delete your account directly in the Gurway rider app. Open the app, go to the Account tab, and tap Delete account. You can also reach the same screen via Account → Privacy settings → Account Management → Delete Account. Account deletion is only available in the app while you are signed in — it cannot be completed from the website.
What happens when I delete my account?
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. After you confirm deletion, your account and associated data are removed, you are immediately signed out of the app, and any ongoing trips or bookings may be cancelled. To use Gurway again, you will need to create a new account.
What data is deleted?
When you delete your account, the following information is permanently removed from your device and our systems:
- Profile information (name, phone number)
- Trip history and bookings
- Payment methods and billing information
- Saved addresses and preferences
- Notification settings
- Account authentication data
- Usage analytics and app data
What is the step-by-step deletion process in the app?
- Navigate to Delete account from the Account tab or Privacy settings.
- Review the warning screen, which lists the data that will be deleted and what happens next.
- Tap Delete My Account and confirm in the dialog that appears.
- For security, you may be asked to re-authenticate if you have not signed in recently (within the last 30 minutes).
- The app clears your local data, deletes your authentication account, and signs you out automatically.
Do I need to re-authenticate before deleting my account?
Yes, in some cases. For your security, Gurway may require you to confirm your identity before deleting your account. If you signed in more than 30 minutes ago, the app will prompt you to re-authenticate using your phone number before the deletion can proceed. If your session has expired, sign in again and retry the deletion.
Can I recover my account after deletion?
No. Once your account is deleted, it cannot be recovered and your data cannot be restored. If you only want a break from the service, consider signing out instead — your data remains saved and you can return anytime by signing back in.
Is there an alternative to permanently deleting my account?
Yes. If you do not want to permanently lose your data, you can simply sign out from the Account tab. Your profile, trip history, saved addresses, and preferences will remain intact until you sign in again. You can also review your data in the app (trip history, personal information, and saved addresses) before deciding whether to delete your account.
What if account deletion fails?
If deletion fails, check your internet connection and try again. Common reasons include a network error, an expired session, or too many attempts in a short period. Sign out, sign back in, and retry. If the problem persists, contact support@gurway.com for assistance.
How long does it take for my data to be fully removed?
Your account and app data are deleted immediately when you complete the in-app deletion process. Any remaining records required for legal, accounting, or safety compliance may be retained for a limited period as described in our Privacy Policy, after which they are permanently removed.
